Hon. Charles A. Stephens, New Braunfels

Judge Stephens has been the Presiding Judge of Comal County Court at Law #2 since its inception on January 1, 2004, and the Presiding Judge of the Comal County Veterans Treatment Court since its inception on August 13, 2015. He was in private practice from 1984 through 2003. Judge Stephens currently serves as the Presiding Judge of the Comal County Juvenile Court. He has also worked with the New Braunfels Chamber Business-Education Partnership and the Comal Juvenile Probation Department to develop the S.A.F.E. Program (Student And Family Empowerment Program) assisting students and families dealing with truancy and mental health issues, and was previously a member of the Collaborative Council of the JCMH, serving on the Curriculum Committee and the Legislative Committee.

Judge Stephens is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and St. Mary’s University School of Law. He is the father of 3 and grandfather of 6.
