The Honorable Jesse McClure, III of Kingwood was appointed to the Court of Criminal Appeals in 2020. He previously served as Judge of the 339th Judicial District Court in Harris County and as a prosecutor for the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI), assigned to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office as a special assistant district attorney. Prior to his service at TDI, he was an attorney for the Department of Homeland Security, and an assistant district attorney for the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office.
He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Additionally, he is a Deacon at Second Baptist Church, a leader in Bible Study Fellowship, and a volunteer for the Deerwood Elementary PTA. He is also a former member of the UTHealth Nurse Anesthesia Division Advisory Board.
McClure received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Juris Doctorate from The University of Texas School of Law. He is married to Katie McClure. They have three children.
